CMC Homecoming
Set for Saturday

FAYETTE, Mo. This mid-Missouri community scene of much color and pageantry Saturday (Oct. 13) as Central Methodist College observes its annual Homecoming. Several thousand invitations have been mailed to a large crowd is expected for the event.

Highlights of the day will include the traditional parade, special reunions for the classes of 1958, 1963 and 1968, a football game with arch-rival Missouri Valley (both teams 1 - 0 in conference action), and a dance in the evening.

Starting time for the parade is 10:30 a.m. with the float theme this fall entitled, "That Was the Year That Was." Various college organizations will have entries in the parade. Four bands will participate including the CMC Marching Eagles, Fayette High School, Slater High School, and Bevier High School. In addition, there will be various cars carrying royalty, cheerleaders, and dignitaries. The parade will wend its way through the streets of Fayette for  approximately a half-hour, ending at Davis Field.

This is the second year that Homecoming has been separated from band day. Logistical and scheduling problems in having both events the same day had become impossible to handle. Band Day this year will take place the weekend following Homecoming (Oct. 20) with 24 high school bands signed up to participate.
