History of Service Day

The first Service Day at Central Methodist University took place on April 15, 2008, and was part of a larger event, Leadership and Service Day.  One group of students, faculty, and staff, took part in Service Day, where they performed community service around the campus and town of Fayette.  The second group attended the Leadership Conference, in the Student and Community Center.

In subsequent years, the leadership portion of the conference was subsumed by Service Day, with students, faculty, and staff offering their help not only around campus, but in Fayette and across Howard County.
