Board of Curators
Central Methodist College
Gentlemen:
Sam Stedman's battle with cancer came to an end, Saturday, at Cedars of Lebanon Hospital in Los Angeles. The funeral services will be held in New York City on Wednesday. I will attend the services on behalf of the college.
I am sure that many of you will want to write Mrs. Stedman. Her address is Windmill Farms, N. Lake Rd., Armonk, N.Y.
Sam had given hearty approval to the last set of plans that we had drawn for the new Science Building, and was most pleased with the present proposal that is to come before the Board at our next meeting. He had also arranged for a new X-ray to be given to us for our laboratory use, and had contacted a laboratory equipment manufacturer who plans to provide this portion of equipment at manufacturer's cost. He had already started transferring funds for the new Science Building, but had also assured me that if anything happened to him, an amount adequate for the building was in his will.
The freshman class arrived yesterday, 300 strong. They look like fine people and all indications are that we will have a very fine year.
Sincerely,
Ralph L. Woodward
